In 2018, EFCWest will be providing Impact Workshops throughout the San Francisco Bay Area starting with:

When: March 29, April 19 & May 10

Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm; Wine and Networking 5:30pm - 6:00pm

Cost: $75/workshop or $150 for all three

Learn to tell powerful stories and deliver persuasive messages to move your audiences to action. Practice new techniques to engage your stakeholders and access their valuable input. This EFCWest workshop will help you:

  • Learn why you need story and how to tell a great one,
  • Apply tools that will help you access stakeholder perspectives and knowledge FAST, and
  • Frame your messages to motivate your target market.

March 29, 5:30pm - 8:00pm: Storytelling for Impact!

Why is story important? What makes an effective story? How do you use story to move your audience and inspire action? Facts alone do not change people’s minds, we need to bring our facts to life to inspire action.

Join us for an entertaining and energetic evening. Find out what makes a great story and share your own.

Trainer: Lauralee Barbaria served as the Director of Dominican University’s GreenMBA Program and has 25 years in executive management in finance, hi-tech and health care.

April 19, 5:30pm - 8:00pm: Engaging Your Stakeholders

Conversation Mapping is a tool that reveals stakeholder thoughts and concerns quickly. It finds hidden information, synergy of issues, and breaks through hierarchies that interfere with information sharing. 

In this session you will learn by doing.  Participants will create their own Conversation Map to understand and implment a "Silent Way to be Powerful."

Trainer: Elaine McCarty, also previously Director of the GreenMBA, brings over fifteen years of management and consulting experience in business, health care and education.

May 10, 5:30pm - 8:00pm: Messaging to Move Your Audience

Learn tools to develop a strong and persuasive message, framed for your audience. Build on the storytelling techniques from Session One to create a message that will motivate your target audience. 

In this last session we'll put it all together and work in teams to develop strong messages that target specific audiences.

Trainer:  Sarah Diefendorf is the Director of EFCWest and specializes in building financial, communications and leadership capacity with NGOs in the US and abroad.
